A place for parents and coaches to come together

The first part of my new program is to bring parents and coaches together on social media. This is a Facebook page where parents and coaches can come together, ask different questions, gain clarity, and, most importantly, get on the same page to help their daughters and gymnasts thrive.

Gymnastics needs a new culture, and I believe the separation of parents and coaches is one of the fundamental problems with the old gymnastics culture. It needs something new.

This is what you’ll find on this Facebook page:

  • Conversations that are inclusive of both parents and coaches so we can begin to understand each other — ask questions, gain clarity, learn the “whys” behind it all. Direct communication is key.
  • Information and resources organized by important topic to help your gymnast —
  • Self-esteem
  • Motivation
  • Success
  • Dealing with failure
  • Creating a new gymnastics culture
  • The Everyday Gymnast
  • Coaching the individual
  • Creating a gymnastics philosophy
  • Much more!

My goal is to bring updated content to gymnastics parents and gymnastics coaches that reflects the positive gymnastics environment in which I grew up and thrived, to as many gymnasts, parents, and coaches as possible. If we want our beautiful sport to survive and weather the storm that the traditional, toxic environment has created, we need to do something new.

If you are a gymnastics parent or coach, or gymnast, I invite you to join the One Gymnast at a Time Exclusive Facebook group. Let’s come together, do what is best for each of our gymnasts within a NEW gymnastics culture, making it great for one gymnast at a time!
